Skatetalk Bob apology video

Skatetalk Bob’s sarcasm wasn't understood by most viewers, so Bob and Patrick O’Dell decided to make an apology video. Found out what disease Skatetalk Bob has had since he was a little kid. Maybe now the viewers understand why Bob sometimes says the things he says. http://altamontapparel.com/articles/2011/08/27/skatetalk-bob-apology-video/

INSTANCE x Kid Creature

Calvin Saxton, a.k.a. Kid Creature, is a 11 year old kid with a huge love for life. His early childhood was hampered by severe allergies and asthma. Calvin used to plead that his parent let him surf because he actually felt much better and healthier when he was in the water. He’s been in the water ever since, becoming an avid surfer, which helps tremendously in those bouts with asthma.

He started drawing, which soon became his signature style of art that eventually made its way onto t-shirts. His art is pure, true and captures the essence of a kid with a huge imagination and a gift of expression. Cal has always had a big heart for kids who struggle for any reason with specific empathy for anyone who labors to breath. Cal donates 10% of the profit on all of his Kid Creature sales to help fight against cystic fibrosis. So when you purchase the Stance x Kid Creature sock, or a shirt on the KidCreature.net site, you are helping the fight for breath that many kids are struggling with every day. Cal called in the following quote, “I dig the guys from Stance because they let an 11 year old go wild on some socks with no rules and they understand my twisted imagination!” Wild indeed, couldn’t have said it better ourselves. From head to hand, uninterrupted by any artistic standard, Kid Creature is an inspiration to us all. Kid Creature socks along with the entire Fall 2012 collection available now at finer retail locations nationwide.

etnies skatepark of Lake Forest expansion party

Last Saturday etnies and the City of Lake Forest celebrated the completion of the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest expansion project with more than five hundred skate fans and local community members who came out to show their support. Ryan Sheckler, Sean Malto, Devine Calloway, Kyle Leeper, Willow, Ryan Pearce and Alex Midler joined etnies owner Pierre-Andre Senizergues and the Mayor of Lake Forest to replant a tree at the park to celebrate the completion of the largest free skatepark in the nation before putting on a skate demo the fans won’t soon forget.

The $1,000,000 and 22,000 square foot expansion project, funded by the City of Lake Forest, brought lots of new trannies and street features including a mini bowl, street run, flow course, backyard style pool, upgrades to existing park features and barbeque area for skate camps and events.

The etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest was a first in skateboarding – In 2003 it was the first time a skatepark was created through a public/private partnership. It was Pierre-Andre Senizergues’ vision to raise awareness for cities to understand the importance of skateparks in their communities, and from that this public/private partnership was formed. etnies partnered with the City of Lake Forest to create this skatepark that currently has more than 1,200 skateboarders ride it each week. The etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest model shows that skateparks can be a major benefit to communities all over the world.

GWAR for Altamont

Altamont Apparel is proud to be the first brand to ever collaborate with GWAR. For more than 25 years, the heavy metal band has been touring the world with it's its massive sci-fi/horror inspired costumes, obscene lyrics and graphic, politically-themed stage performances.

Our Fall 2011 collection offers three GWAR T-shirts: Gig, Pit and Scumdogs. All three graphics are from the early days of the band, and have never been available on a T-shirt before.Last December Altamont creative mastermind FOS interviewed GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus in Pomona, CA, as the band came through on their "Bloody Pit of Horror" tour to promote their latest album.

Gone Skating

Last week, it was announced that éS is going on hiatus at the end of Spring 2012.This is a painful decision for everyone involved, and judging from the overwhelming amount of email, Facebook and Twitter support we've received in the last week, our fans, retailers and supporters are bummed as well.

éS has been providing skateboard-specific footwear since 1995. The goal was to make the best shoes we could to support the needs of skateboarders. We're extremely proud of our legacy in footwear and apparel design. We are proud of our riders, videos, tours and the positive and progressive effect we've had on skateboarding.

From now into Spring 2012, business continues for us. We will continue working with our team riders and everyone associated with the brand through this transition.

You may see a bit less from us in the magazines and online, but we will continue to support the thing we love the most, skateboarding, the best we can. éSskateboarding.com will be honoring the brand's history through it's timeline, product archives and retrospective content in the coming months.

éS began for the love of skateboarding. 16 years later, we still love skateboarding just as much, if not more than ever before. Wear your éS with pride and know that we appreciate everyone who has worn down our rubber, kickflipped through our suede and enjoyed time on a skateboard with us. And remember, if you love something; support it before it's too late.

Gone Skating.

Thank you,
éS
